Director’s Statement — Hotel Teimori

“Why does my brain do everything except what I want?”

Written by Ramtin Ruzitalab

Hotel Teimori is a story of return. It follows a man named Mohammad, who once struggled with addiction, and today, in the very place he once sought refuge, has become a shelter for others.
He now serves as the head of a DIC center, a space where people with similar wounds gather to rebuild their lives.

The initial idea for this film came from Elham Dehbozorgi, and Ramtin Ruzitalab, with a human and non-judgmental gaze, walked alongside Mohammad into the quiet, meaningful world he inhabits.
The camera in this story is neither a judge nor a rescuer; it simply sits and listens.
In silence, alongside those whose voices had gone unheard for years.

The production of the film began in 2012 and continued until 2018 — a patient and careful effort to approach the human experience of living on the margins, and to search for hope amid pain.
Hotel Teimori is not about addiction; it is about humanity, about listening, and about a respect that finds its meaning in silence.
